These Terms of Use govern your use of the MessierMate app, operated by Cosmic Flow Labs. By using the app, you agree to these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using MessierMate, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

2. Use of the App

MessierMate is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to: reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app; use the app to transmit harmful, unlawful, or abusive content; attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers or another user's data; use automated tools to scrape or bulk-collect data from the app.

3. Accounts

If you create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information when creating your account. You may delete your account at any time by contacting hello@cosmicflowlabs.com.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create in the app — observation notes, photos, and session records. By uploading content to our servers, you grant Cosmic Flow Labs a limited license to store and display that content solely to provide the app's features to you. You are responsible for ensuring any content you upload does not violate applicable laws or third-party rights.

5. Astronomical Data

The app provides astronomical calculations (object positions, rise/set times, moon phase) for planning purposes. While we strive for accuracy, these calculations are provided "as is" without warranty. Do not rely on them for safety-critical decisions.

6. Availability

We provide the app "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that any particular feature will remain available. We may update, modify, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time without notice.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cosmic Flow Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
